Choose Showers Over Baths

Showers Over Baths

One easy way to save energy (and water!) is to choose showers over baths. A 5-minute shower will use approximately 7.5 gallons of hot water, whereas the average American bathtub would be filled up to about 20 gallons. For even more water efficiency, purchase a shower head with a flow rate lower than 2.5 gpm (gallons per minute). It is relatively easy and inexpensive to swap out your old shower head with a more efficient one.
